This studio is called 'On circular materials and processes'. As the title already suggests, the main theme of the studio is to design with circular materials, always keeping in mind our fragile ecology.

This project was undertaken through a collaboration with 27 students. The goal was to design and eventually build a pizza-oven for the inhabitants of Vilvoorde. We have been given a site to build the oven, called Asiat.

To get a holistic overview of the project I suggest strongly to watch the documentary below. It emphasises all the different parts of the project creating an extra community space for the city of Vilvoorde.

My personal task for this project was to manage the whole construction. I provided the different sponsors to make it possible. During the 8 weeks of construction I was in direct communication with them, together with the two teachers. Furthermore I organised the final jury. This managing function was the best learning experience. To make it work between 27 international students, external companies as well as the site owners. Although, I must mention that I had a very good partner to make it happen, named Annebelle Ral. We divided our tasks through the process, which worked out great.

By taking this role I improved strongly my communication skills and managing skills.
